Broadcasts dates follow. This is one series you do not want to miss! Richard Powers is a particularly engaging speaker. These presentations use illustrations drawn from Richard’s private collection of *thousands* of vintage lithographs. Andy Taylor is a spirited and entertaining speaker whose family had pivotal influence on America’s love affair with folkdance. Sonia and Cristian are dance teachers and choreographers extraordinaire who have brought many of our most beloved Romanian dances.

We dance twice a month on irregular Saturdays, 6:30pm to 10 or 11pm, trying to work around other big events in the international dance world. Virtual Dance Room has organized an Afterparty to follow the Global Folk Dance Party which is on Saturday August 15 6-9 pm ET (3-6pm PT).
This Afterparty will start at 9:30pm ET (6:30pm PT). The Global Dance Party usually runs a bit late but the Afterparty will start as scheduled.

An at-home version of this Chicago summertime tradition is on YouTube. Presented by DCASE with the Chicago Park District, the reimagined series was filmed in Millennium Park and at Chicago Park district locations, featuring skyline views and iconic imagery.
Following the traditional SummerDance model, each program starts with a 30-minute dance lesson, followed by 60 minutes of music performed by local artists. Dance and music styles are Line Dance (copyright issues have blocked this video in Canada), Cumbia, Swing, Bollywood & Bhangra, Salsa, and House.
All programs can be viewed on the Chicago DCASE site here.

Nothing can stop KDI! This year we are holding a virtual Kentucky Dance Institute. For 67 years KDI has brought folk dance, fun and family to thousands of people around the world. Our mission hasn’t changed, just the delivery. We are honored to have Ed Austin, Ahmet Lüleci, Joe Graziosi and Harry Khamis teach for us this year.
Each day, camp will be filled with folk dancing, social time, some long running KDI traditions and games. Everything is free, please join us and celebrate our love of dance, community and family. There is no need to register, but you can register here to help us gauge attendance. Or you can subscribe to our mailing list below to get updates about camp and the other fun activities that we all enjoy. (We promise not to spam you with lots of emails)

WE’VE ADDED AN AUCTION TO THE LINE-UP At Stockton Folk Dance Camp every year, we shop at the Scholarship Bazaar, enjoy the spirited bidding at the live auction, and carefully keep an eye on the bids at the silent auction. While our Virtual Camp team members were unable to recreate the bazaar and the live auction this year, they were able to simulate a silent auction. Some items that have been donated are shown above. Join perennial favorites Tineke and Maurits van Geel for this online dance workshop. Both Tineke and Maurits have been featured at numerous Folk Arts Center camps since the mid-1990s. Their international reputation has taken them all over the world as they have collected dances, taught at workshops and festivals, and directed many folklore trips to various fascinating parts of the world.
